Frosty

This was yesterday's two our distraction. The girls came to me and said they wanted to go outside and play in the snow. I looked at them, then back into the kitchen at the to do list on the fridge and then back at them. I decided that the list could wait. My girls are only going to be 2 and 3 years old one time so we decided to seize the day. We made this snowman it was so much fun we sang all the songs about snowmen we knew. The girls got cold and went inside after twenty minutes and watched me finish him from the window.
About an hour later we checked on him to find that one of the neighbors had given him chopstick arms. We have a great neighborthood. Kaitlyn named him Frosty. Sadly this morning when we went to check on him had fallen over during the night.

Looking Forward to Thanksgiving

I have been anticipating Thanksgiving and reminiscing about last year's celebration. I am getting excited about the big day and it is time to stop thinking and planning and get to work.

I had to pull out these photos of last years memorable turkeys.
The candy ones I made for my place settings last year and posted the picture again so I can remember how I did them.

This really cute paper craft is and idea I am stealing from the Clarke family. A few days before Thanksgiving last year they made this "Thankful Turkey" Everyone wrote or drew pictures of things they were grateful for on the turkey feathers and then hung them on the turkey. This sounds like a super fun tradition to start with our kids. I am so looking forward to this project it is going to be tons of fun with the girls and it's nice to count blessings and we can make a new "Thankful Turkey" every year. Thanks Jen for this awesome idea!

Milestones

Here is Kaitlyn on her first day of preschool. She was so excited to go to school that I couldn't get her to stand still for the picture. I have posted a few of the ones I was able to snap before she marched into the house to get the keys that I had left inside.

Jazzie gets to stay home with mom while Kaitlyn is at school. We try to spend the time doing fun things together.

In addition to being very mobile Hailey has learned to pull herself up.

She has also working mastering the sippy.

Patio Painting

One of Kaitlyn and Jazzie's favorite activities is to paint with sidewalk chalk paint on the back patio. Michelle, our wonderful Nanny took these pictures for me. Thanks Michelle, you are the best.

Rise and Shine When Pigs Fly

This morning I was enjoying a very rare morning of sleep. After being up several times during the night with the girls apparently they were just as exhausted from the night wakenings that we were all sleeping in past 7am. When my adorable husband burst into the bedroom and said. "Honey, I know you are sleeping but there is a big pink elephant in the sky. You have got to see this, of course I didn't beleive him I mean who would? But sure enough he raised the blinds to reveal a huge pink rear end with a curly tale floating in the air above the houses.

Once I was able to rub the sleep out of my eyes to find the camera we grabbed the kids to see that the big pink elephant was actually a pig.

Tony and the girls wanted to be in the pictures, I didn't want to because, duh I just got out of bed and had no idea on what number I was on the scarry looking scale I had reached durning the night and whatever it was I had no desire to have it documented.

So what are the chances of waking up to a giant pig attacking your house?

The pig landed on the school lawn so we hopped in the car to see it and the other balloons that were still making there way toward the house.

This is a picture of the balloon that landed on our house (not really)
We followed the balloons to try and see where they were headed and at least where the took of from. But it is still a mystery to us.

Date Night

Last night Tony and I went to Hogsmead festival it is a huge party at Jordan Commons celebrating the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Before we got there we dressed up in our Harry Potter costumes. Tony suggested that I die my hair red to look more like Ginny Weasley. This made us a little late for the party but the red hair was all in the name of good clean fun and it doesn't look that bad.

Once we got to the festival we had all kinds of fun, first we were sorted into our different Houses. Tony was in Grifendor and I was in Hufflepuff. While standing in line to be sorted I had my fortune read. Later we stood in line to ride on the Hogwarts Express, shopped for wands and decided that we had the best wands money could buy now that Olivander's is no longer. We stood in line again to get an invite to attend Hogwarts school and then stood in line again to have a drink of some delicious butter beer, and cake Hogwarts style. Then we watched the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at midnight. It was a really late night and a great date.

Here we are all dressed up and ready to hit a certain town in England.

These kids were so cute we asked if we could take a picture of them.

Platform 9 3/4.

Here we are being sorted.
