A few picture from the last few months

A good friend of Tony's gave us some produce from his garden earlier this fall. We had fun preparing the green beans for dinner.
This is Skyler playing naptime with Kaitlyn's panda bear.
Flat tire, no spare had to call Tripple A to get to the service station. Fun Day!

That Was Not Supposed to Happen!

Jasmine and I were driving down the driveway when I realized The antilock breaks were not going to allow me to slow enough and that there was too much ice and snow on the driveway to make the turn to get through the gate. So to avoid hitting the rock wall I stepped on the gas in an effort to try and make it through the trees and around the gate. It wasn't long before I realized what a bad idea that was. When conditions we worse than I thought and the result did not go as planned. My tires had zero grip in the four inches of snow on the ground and we slid in to one tree on one side then the other side not sure if I even saw the last one coming at the same time the air bag hit me in the face. After catching my breath and making sure Jasmine was okay we were able to roll down the windows to let the smoke out that had filled the cab of the car. I was finally able to pry my door open and pull Jazzie out.  I feel so blessed that we walked away with couple of scratches. I miss my beautiful car and am totally ashamed at my driving.

Christmas Concerts and Scissors

The Girls had their Christmas concert in early December.

tThey were adorable.
Kaitlyn's first grade Teacher Mrs Jones came to see her

Haily loves scissors. In the pass week she has made three attempts. After the first attempt I took her to cookie cutters to make sense of it all. It was really so adorable and she got all kinds of attention. I think that is why she has make three more attempts in the last week. You will see the results below.

After we took her to Cookie Cutters in Utah. She was so adorable in this cute little pixie cut.
Everyone commented and how cute she was and she was the center of attention. Everything was wonderful in Hailey's world until someone told her that she missed a spot. Two mornings ago I here a snip snip by my ear as I am waking up in the morning to the sweet voice saying Mommie can you help me get the part she missed? Snip  Below is the end result and least I hope she's done with the scissors for know.

This last photo is how she feels about what she has done to her hair. We are looking forward to the day it grows back. Hailey is not allowed to have scissors.

Outside Looking In

This poem was read at a very good friend of the families funeral yesterday.

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone,
from the beginning…to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read,
with your life’s actions to rehash…
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent YOUR dash?

Really has me thinking about the way I spend my dash daily and I a recommitted once again to spend my dash in the way that the Lord intended me to.
